Completing the Puzzle

Sometimes the pencil beckons an engagement
through pages and words, a caveat prays to be heard
by an innocuous reader, remixed during a statuary time
words we whisper in the mazes of our minds
recognize the different voices
keep the pieces from falling away
come together in the rhythm of this poem
flow like music when pronounced aloud
the pieces your fingers align
convince the body to recognize the mind
when the future arrives
it’s only you and I between the fall and the climb.
