I have remembered you, in time
itβs passing. my arms tend to wrap air
on bright mornings and welcome
the rapid succession of days.
Evaporation is happening faster than
growth and I must rely on children to
lift these stones from the ground
reveal where life tends to hide
subtle, moist and immortal beyond the day.
Do we become none, fallen into memories.
Imprisoned by what could have been.
I am easily moved by a premise,
by a body, what to expect in the face of silence
unearthed, naked, body open below the sun
utterly silent and still.
Love it, Kate. I can thoroughly relate. I appreciate the mix of abstract and concrete imagery.
I am easily moved by a premise,
by a body,
Thank you. Glad to connect with those who can relate. Unsure whether it is a weakness or a strength π
Our weakness is our strength.
A wonderful poem, Kate.
So great to hear from you, Michael…and to receive that kind comment. Thank you!

Yes! So much to discover under stone π
Lovely poem, Kate!
I especially loved the lines: “Do we become none, fallen into memories.
Imprisoned by what could have been.” A brilliant thought here.. π
Hi Shreya! Thanks for reading and commenting. I’m glad those lines spoke to you. Much love, Kate
Well you did it again Kate π This piece is awesome, human mortality beautifully captured in words that can only be woven by you. Ecopoetry at its finest here. I must say, your works are waaaaaaaaaay better than some of the published ecopoets out there π #justsaying
You are awesome, Charlotte π And your comments (and your poetry) are so thoughtful. Love to hear from you and anxious to read more of what you put out there for us to learn from and enjoy. Love to you…Kate.
Thanks dear π
”Imprisoned by what could have been.β You nailed it there.
Keep up the good work π

I love it; simple, eloquent and so evocative.
Thank you for reading…and for the really kind compliments! Looking forward to reading your work, as well.
